Washington, D.C. – Today, For Country Caucus Co-Chairs Tony Gonzales (TX-23) and Jason Crow (CO-06), released a statement following the presentation of the Congressional Gold Medal to the 13 servicemembers killed in a suicide bomb attack outside of Hamid Karzai International Airport’s Abbey Gate on August 26, 2021.
“We will always honor the sacrifice of the 13 brave men and women who lost their lives in the Abbey Gate attack in Afghanistan—they are beyond deserving of the Congressional Gold Medal,” said For Country Caucus Co-Chairs, Congressmen Tony Gonzales (TX-23) and Jason Crow (CO-06). “The For Country Caucus will do everything it can to ensure this nation honors them and all the servicemembers who have lost their lives in the name of freedom.”
