Washington, D.C. – For Country Caucus Co-Chairs, Congressmen Tony Gonzales (TX-23) and Jason Crow (CO-06) released the following statement in reflection of the anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks:
“On this somber day of remembrance, let us come together to reflect on the tragic events that forever changed our nation, remember the American lives lost, and honor the heroism shown that day.
“We are now twenty-two years removed from the September 11th terror attacks. We must never forget the sacrifices of our first responders and civilians who showed exemplary bravery and determination in the face of grave peril. We must think of those we lost and their families and loved ones who will forever be in mourning. We must honor the valor of the men and women who served in our nation’s military and in the war that followed. And finally, we must continue to share the stories and lessons of September 11th, 2001 with the generations too young to have experienced them.
That day, as a country, we decided to be defined by our togetherness, refusing to bow to the pressure of the terror that sought to divide us. We will remain vigilant as we strive for solidarity and honor those we lost on 9/11 through our dedication to serving the people of this great nation.”
