Washington, D.C. – The Lugar Center and Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy jointly released Bipartisan Index rankings for 2023. The index reflects how often each Member of Congress works across party lines. A third of For Country Caucus members serving in 2023 ranked in the top 50. Over half ranked in the top 100, including the caucus Co-Chairs Congressmen Jason Crow (CO-06) and Tony Gonzales (TX-23) and Vice-Chairs Congresswomen Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-01) and Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11).
“This year’s Lugar score list is yet another example of the commitment to bipartisanship by our caucus Members,” said For Country Caucus Co-Chairs, Congressmen Tony Gonzales (TX-23) and Jason Crow (CO-06). “It shows we take our work seriously. As was true when we served in the military, we’ll continue to prioritize the needs of this country over party lines.”
The Bipartisan Index rankings measure the frequency with which a Member of Congress sponsors bills co-sponsored by at least one member of the opposing party as well as the frequency with which a member co-sponsors bills introduced by members of the opposite party.

Co-Chaired by Congressman Tony Gonzales (TX-23) and Congressman Jason Crow (CO-06), the bipartisan For Country Caucus provides principled military veteran members the opportunity to work together across party lines to pass thoughtful legislation in national security, veterans affairs, and national service. Since its founding in 2019, the caucus has advocated for a less polarized Congress that works for — and is trusted by — Americans.
