Congressman Tony Gonzales Secures Texas’s 23rd District Interior Priorities in Appropriations Bill

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Tony Gonzales (TX-23) secured funds for water systems, waste projects and national parks within Texas’s 23rd District in the FY 2022 Interior and Environment Appropriations bill. 

“I am excited to see funds allocated towards improvements at Big Bend National Park, and investments into waste and water projects in our district,” said Congressman Gonzales. “As we continue to review appropriations for FY22, I am committed to ensuring that our taxpayer dollars are used responsibility and are hard at work all across our district.”

Congressman Gonzales helped to secure funds for a variety of interior and environmental projects across Texas’s 23rd District:

  • $35 million for the Border Water Infrastructure Program (BWIP).
  • $18 million for the Technical Assistance and Training to Small Drinking Water Systems Serving less than 10,000 person populations.
  • Included Report Language to have the National Park Service provide funds for emergency and unscheduled projects at sites around the country impacted by fires, including Big Bend National Park in Brewster County.
