SAN ANTONIO, TX – Congressman Tony Gonzales (TX-23) hosted Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA-23) for an energy roundtable and press conference at Howard Energy in San Antonio on Thursday. They were joined by Mike Howard, co-founder and CEO of Howard Energy, Tom Hart, CEO of Jonah Energy, and additional leaders in the energy industry.

“Right now, we need to be focused on reopening our economy and getting Americans back to work,” said Congressman Gonzales. “We can’t afford to eliminate jobs while so many Americans are still out of work. By slashing our energy industry, President Biden is not only hurting the American worker but he’s forcing our country to be reliant on our adversaries for energy.”

“I am so grateful to Tony for inviting me to San Antonio to discuss the need to protect American jobs and maintain affordable, abundant, American-made energy. Tony may be new to Congress, but he is no freshman,” said Leader McCarthy. “He is a leader in his class and has already distinguished himself by being appointed to the important Appropriations Committee. By all counts, he is serving Texans with dedication and determination. I know he will continue to work with his House Republican colleagues to hold the Biden Administration accountable for its catastrophic and ineffective climate policies.”
