EAGLE PASS, TX – Congressman Tony Gonzales (TX-23) on Monday announced $10,000 in grant funds from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for Head Start programs in Eagle Pass. The grant money will be awarded to the Kickapoo Traditional Tribe of Texas in Eagle Pass for $10,233. Congressman Gonzales previously served as the Community Representative for the City of San Antonio Head Start Policy Council from 2018 – 2019.

“I am excited to see HHS investing funds into Head Start programs and our tribal communities in Eagle Pass,” said Congressman Gonzales. “As a father and former member of the San Antonio Head Start Policy Council, I know the important impact this program has on our communities. When our kids have access to resources that Head Start programs provide, they are better equipped to put their best foot forward each day.”
