SAN ANTONIO, TX – Congressman Tony Gonzales (TX-23) on Thursday was joined by Republican Whip Steve Scalise (LA-01) for a visit to the National Security Agency (NSA) Texas Cryptology Center, also known as NSA Texas. They met with Col. Andy Steffen, Commander of NSA Texas, to discuss the NSA’s critical support to the country’s national security and their recruitment plans for the region. Whip Scalise is the most senior member of Congress to visit the location.

“As a former cryptologist, I understand how critical our intelligence community is to national security, especially as we see a rise in cyberattacks from bad actors,” said Congressman Gonzales. “We are lucky to have NSA Texas right here in San Antonio and it was great to hear their plans to recruit talented folks from the area. I appreciate Whip Scalise joining me for the visit and his commitment to our armed forces, both across the nation and right here in Texas’ 23rd District.”
