EL PASO, TX - Congressman Tony Gonzales (TX-23) announced that the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo Tribe received $482,382 in grant funding through the Tribal Homeland Security Grant program. This grant program is part of a comprehensive set of measures authorized by Congress and implemented by the Department of Homeland Security to help strengthen the nation’s communities against potential targeted violence. Funding can be used to enhance community preparedness, cybersecurity, intelligence sharing, and other anti-terrorism capabilities.
“This funding will greatly improve security efforts at one of Texas’ most historic reservations,” said Congressman Gonzales. “I look forward to seeing the significant impact this award will have on the Tigua community and the safety of its people.”??
