Today, Congressman Tony Gonzales (TX-23) hosted a school safety and security roundtable in Washington, D.C. Congressman Gonzales is the founder and Co-Chair of the Congressional Bipartisan School Safety and Security Caucus. Members of the caucus work with educators, law enforcement personnel, school safety experts, and parents to foster safer classrooms for children across the United States.
“During today’s roundtable, we brought together school safety experts, law enforcement leaders, educators, and parents to discuss ways we can implement practices that improve school security,” said Congressman Tony Gonzales. “When I founded the Bipartisan School Safety and Security Caucus, the goal was to bring people to the table, because it takes every one of us paddling in the same direction to make change happen. Lawmakers don’t have all the answers, so it’s important that we hear different perspectives and ideas. That way, we can make informed, well-rounded decisions on policies that will impact generations of students.”
Uvalde CISD Superintendent Ashley Chohlis and Uvalde Chief of Police Homer Delgado were in attendance.
In May 2023, Congressman Gonzales hosted the first Congressional Bipartisan School Safety and Security Caucus roundtable alongside Rep. Jared Moskowitz (FL-23).
