WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congressman Tony Gonzales (TX-23) voted for an extension of government funding through January 2026 and three full fiscal year budget bills in the U.S. House of Representatives.
“Today, I voted for a second time to fully fund federal government operations. Congress’ core responsibility is to deliver an annual budget. Through my role on the House Appropriations Committee, I have worked hard all year to draft and pass 12/12 funding bills out of our committee. In addition to passing an extension to fund the government while we continue negotiating these must-pass legislative items, three of the twelve full fiscal year budget bills were voted on this evening. This is a step in the right direction—critical military and VA projects, as well as USDA priorities, will receive full-year funding,” said Congressman Tony Gonzales.
In September, Congressman Gonzales voted for a clean extension of government funding in the U.S. House of Representatives to ensure the government remained funded. The measure was rejected by a majority of Democrats in the U.S. Senate over a dozen times.
The U.S. House of Representatives passed the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs and Related Agencies, Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies, and Legislative Branch appropriations bills this evening. These bills will be sent to President Trump to sign into law.
