Congressman Tony Gonzales (R-Texas) introduced a resolution in the U.S. House of Representatives calling on President Biden to enforce existing law and revoke the visas of foreign nationals who endorse or espouse activity in support of Hamas or other Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTO). Senator Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) introduced a companion resolution in the U.S. Senate.
“Hamas attacks have claimed 30 American lives and more of our own are still missing. Hamas is a terrorist organization, any foreign national supporting Hamas or other Foreign Terrorist Organizations should have their visa terminated. It’s against the law to allow supporters of terrorism or terrorist groups to enter our country – it’s time for President Biden to enforce the laws we have on the books,” said Congressman Tony Gonzales.
“It is a blessing to live in America and any individual that is promoting Hamas should have that privilege revoked. Republicans are united in calling on President Biden to enforce current law and revoke the visas of any foreign national who support Hamas or any other Foreign Terrorist Organization,” said Senator Marco Rubio.
Congressman Gonzales and Senator Rubio’s Resolution:
- Calls on President Biden to enforce existing law to revoke visas and initiate deportation proceedings for any foreign national who has endorsed the terrorist activities of Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah, or other FTOs that have participated in terrorist attacks against Israel and US citizens before, on, or after October 7, 2023;
- Affirms there is no equivalence between the terrorism of Hamas and its backers, and the military actions taken by Israel in self-defense;
- Rejects anti-Semitism in all its forms and guises; and
- Honors the memory of the deceased and never forgetting the unwarranted and unjustified assault on Israel and the Jewish people on October 7, 2023.
